Punggol MRT Station

Singapore’s Punggol MRT station is a premier station in the North East Line of the mass rapid transit system. This MRT station is the terminal station of the North East Line. There is a large thriving community in this district comprising mainly young families. Punggol has been identified by HDB as its first eco-waterfront town in Singapore, reflected by the landscape and waterfront housing. The plan for the residential project is focused on several initiatives aimed at sustainable living through effective energy, water, and waste management. There are almost 30,000 homes in Punggol with close to 100,000 residents..

Punggol MRT Station brings commuters right to the doorstep of Waterpoint Mall. In addition, there are plans to develop light rail systems that can quickly bring MRT commuters home to their apartments inthe district. MRT commuters can board the trains and quickly get to the business district for work and recreation. A few stations from Punggol, commuters can also visit big shopping malls located at Serangoon MRT station or go all the way to Chinatown for shopping.

There are more than 100 MRT stations in Singapore currently, serving in 4 lines, namely, the North South Line, the North East Line, the East West Line and the Circle Line. A new Downtown line has been added which brings commuters from the north direct to town and the business district. Many MRT stations, in particular the interchange stations, are connected to huge shopping malls where commuters arriving by SMRT trains can shop, dine or entertain. These MRT stations-linked shopping malls are very popular with residents and shoppers. An outing to these stations is now a shopping destination for many Singapore residents.

A big draw of Punggol town is the new, modern and gargantuan Waterway Point Mall. It houses a superb, gigantic shopping mall with condominiums facilities for 900 families. The mall houses several restaurants and cafes, eateries, fastfood chains, supermarkets, boutique retail shops, banking offices, and many other amenities. There are many opportunities for alfresco dining and dinners can enjoy the beautiful view of the waterway landscape.
